We Gaucho Back Part 1: UCSB Housing, the Quarter System, Transportation

by Garrett Gerstenberger October 02, 2023 16 min read

Today marks the first day of UCSB's first full week of classes. For returning students, it's time to dust of the cobwebs, pump your bike tires up, and make your way finding those old familiar muscles trained to do school.

For those who are new - first years and transfers: consider this our official welcome! We hope you've been learning routing, becoming directionally acquainted, and putting yourself out there to meet everyone around you. (Don't forget that Storke Tower is the best reference marker for where you are, if you are lost). (Also, second fact - if you're exploring IV, don't ask people "where is the Del Playa?" - just remember Del Playa Drive, or more colloquially, DP, is the last street in Isla Vista that stretches the coastline, with beach access on every block.)

We will be publishing excerpts from our We Gaucho Back: New Student Guide, which you can find in it's entirety on our website

[Part 1]

Welcome!
